There is a Man

There is a man whose tongue is always aflutter,
Off his lips, his words drip like warm melted butter,
The masses cannot resist,
Such awesome, wonderful things he does insist,
Today the man takes the stage,
Hoping to increase his control like an ever growing cage.

There is a man whose arms are always gesturing,
Demonstrating how the old guard is decayed, festering,
With his words he wants to eliminate the past and change the future,
Poverty, wealth, oppression, racism will be gone- hope and equality the new culture,
Today the man takes the stage,
Hoping to increase his control like an ever growing cage.

There is a man who is always smiling,
Now everyone knows the extent of his defiling,
For years his adversaries tried to block, stop, oppose,
But no one believed them, how could they claim what they “know”,
So no longer does he need to take the stage,
For there is nothing else left outside of his cage.
