Their Faces Lie, But Their Eyes Speak The Truth

Every night, the same old game,

Party, drink, smile, laugh, flirt.

As if this whole routine hasn't gotten lame.

The next day's a hangover, but this you ignore.

Throw on some makeup, plaster a fake smile, and go.

As if your heart isn't breaking, like your soul isn't sore.

Your face is always smiling, by others you abide,

You are a fantastic liar, a trained actress,

But I know you hurt inside.

Your eyes speak the truth, every single time,

Your tired of all this,

Tired of the shots, the salt and the lime,

You just want to relax, to sit still, just for a minute

But with the life you lead; impossible

You're so exausted, your heart just isn't in it.

Your eyes; your eyes, I can see you need a friend,

Someone who'll listen, not talk

Just come to me; and you can talk to no end.

This is for all the young adults who constantly have to upkeep that "popular" status.  I just want you to know, you are beautiful just the way you are.  You don't have to drink and party just to prove that. I challenge you; get out of your comfort zone, and go talk to someone you've never spoken to before; someone you may consider "unpopular".  You might be surprised just how kind someone can be.
