Theater kid

I have shared scenes to yellow lights,

To endless rehearsals and read-throughs,

To all-nighters,

Opening and closing curtains,

Moving furniture,

And hours spent on angles and marking.

I have put my heart and mind in my scripts,

To endings and curtain calls,

To living in a fantasy,

To repeated costume changes.

I am the theater kid who loves the theater

Too much to ever fear the stage.
