Terrifying Truth

Fear caused by

Sharing a father

Sharing blood

Sharing the same brokenness

But living completely separate lives

We don’t even know each other

Yet we have the most physical connection

You live your life

I live mine

Completely separate

Connected only by the blood of our alcoholic, suicidal, broken, father

How do you talk to Someone who shares your demons but is nothing like you

How do you speak to your own sister

Someone you barely know

Yet understand her deepest, darkest emotions

As you’ve walked two moons in her moccasins

But can’t seem to overcome the fear

Of walking a mile in your own shoes

Holding hands

With your own sister

Take the leap

For there’s nothing to lose

And everything to gain

The love of your sibling

A new person who understands your biggest struggle

A counselor

A companion

A sister
