Tentoria

"Tentoria" a poem by Hilda B.

Their voices were alarming

Every breath I took triggeres them into more harming

They got a paid vacation for a murder in the first degree

I got a hashtag and a bullet in my chest no one to save me

GIVE ME BACK MY SOUL YOU SO BRUTALLY TOOK AWAY FROM ME

She had no power, he was a coward

He went to run, a cop came a out and pulled a gun

He had a vest, George had no breath

They have the privillage, while the others are just oppressed

Lying bout' our history

Left us there in misery

You just walked away with no charges, no accountability

GIVE ME BACK MY SOUL YOU SO BRUTALLY TOOK AWAY FROM ME

Now I'm not asking for clout, I'm just speaking out

To the people who keep their mouth shut

To the people who scroll past, hide their face, and don't speak up

How you gonna see a man lay there dying

Turn your cheek, then start laughing

Say Black Lives Matter and not take a knee when you have one

Anyways...Come back and ask if I'm fine

And I'll tell you how you stole what was mine

How I died in cold blood and you sat and watched patiently

AND YOU STILL AIN'T GIVE BACK MY SOUL YOU SO BRUTALLY TOOK AWAY FROM ME.

Message:

This poem mainly addresses the issue of injustice in the world we live in today, and it is an important topic of conversation that needs to be discussed because too many of our brothers and sisters have died with no justice, and we need to fight back for that peace, and I want to be able to promote that on this site while delivering my poetry. I hope you enjoyed. Stay safe.
