Tell Me Now

You are my rock.
When I need you, you're always there.
You are like a blanket from my childhood.
When I need your comfort you are there to wrap around me.
You are like the ocean.
I'll walk out so the water touches my calves but no further,
I'm too scared I'll be sucked in and won't be able to escape.
I'm scared that the water will fill my head with memories that aren't with you,
But my brain will switch his face with yours.
I remember the original picture but the new one is too fresh in my mind.
I know you thought this was a love poem but it's not.
It's a warning.
Loving is no easy thing,
In fact it seems to be an impossible thing,
But if I gave you this poem it means I trust you.
I probably won't say it but it's true.
Each poem I write is a piece of me.
Each poem I let you read is me being vulnerable.
So please,
If I am too difficult for you
Tell me now
