Taking it Apart
Taking it apart,
Piece by piece,
A box there, a trash bag here
Letting it all dissolve.
Consolidate, it says,
You'd have to eventually.
But the heart has wound it's cords, vessels,
Around these temporal glory.
The trove of secrets and sleepless nights,
The moments of fear and those of bliss.
How can a room hold happiness--
Yet so it seems as it falls apart,
To have been more than it seemed to be
Day by day,
Building it's hold.
