To Sylvia Plath

Why do I feel a similarity between us

The way society betrayed us

You yearned not to trip on the heights and my wish

for reaching those heights

Your narratives, your verses reminds me of us

Those fat purple figs, this modern lifestyle

haunts me now as it did haunt you once.

I distance you in one thing, you gased yourself

but I'll burn my negativities.
