Dying mutualism blighted by the dissonance of perception
Ostracizing the desires of once affable affection
Dissolving the passion of our fleeing infatuation
As we stand and deprecate love's degradation
What madness is this? What anger overcomes the madness of love?

Though apathy seems keener than empathy to most
For most in this world are hatred-engrossed
Choking in the atmosphere which man tainted morose
The heart of a lover is often pressed closed
What madness is that? What hatred overcomes the tenderness of love?

No longer shall our hearts be allowed to wage war
Let us return to the days when our hearts could adore
I was lost in despair with darkness before
But you were a beacon on the distant shore
I pressed to the light but in the waves was consumed
Drowning in darkness was the fate I presumed
In the waves of desperation I was completely entombed
At last I had reached my end, my doom
But faintly I heard a voice cry in desperation
A hand darted through the torrent aimed with immaculate navigation
The waves pulled ever harder, spurred on in aggravation
But you were victorious. You were my salvation.
Sweet madness at last. Madness of overwhelming love.
