The Sweet Feeling of Failure
Wings out stretched, feathers fluttering in the wind.
"Don't go towards the sun," they said. "you'll fall to your death"
So Icarus stayed low
"Don't go towards the sea," they said. "you'll down and stay in the ocean forever"
ThenIcarus realized what the sun and the sea truely meant, and although he might fall...he wanted to go higher. He wanted to achieve the impossible.
Once he reached the sun, he smiled. For even though he would fall, Apollo in his golden chariot smiled down at him in admiration from the heavens.
And as the wax melted and he plummeted towardsthe earth, he closed his eyes and enjoyed the view.
