Surviving the Stuggle (Civil Rights)

Bitten, but not broken down
Beaten so low to the ground
Falling but never weak
Standing for these rights, CIVIL we seek
The days have passed where we will drink from different fountains
For Our Rights? you can bet WE did climb mountains
We fought past the spit. and fought through the tears
We pray for the resilient that died over the years.
To get us to a point where we are all equal
Letting the world know, NEVER will there be a sequel
Of the horror that we as a people had to endure
The trials, the bloodshed, and much much more
Civil Rights? We got that
Going Back? Never that
Civil we are. Rights we've earned
Living out the dreams of our ancestors, we have learned.
