Surprising Spring

Like the dawning of spring happiness comes

It appears loud and scary, as the shot of a gun

The flowers that bloom brighten the land

Soon we’ll all be basking in sand

But first, the temperature must rise

As we adapt to this welcome surprise

For in the warming of this place

We suddenly move with much more haste

Like waking up from hibernation

We prepare with much trepidation

For tans or heat stroke caused by sun

Yet we look forward to so much fun
