Sunflower

Each fleeting drag of skin on skin

Sends butterflies a-flight

In a kaleidoscope of color,

Vibrance in the night

And I wish the lips of you and I

Could maybe mimic butterflies

And together flutter on so I can

Finally feel alright.

She'll never believe in you

Like I do, my dear

She'll never think that you

are something to revere

Each one of your molecules is worth

more than gold

Every breath you take

Is the greatest story told.

You're the sun and I'm a sunflower

Turning, ever turning

Hoping to keep basking in your rays

Yearning, ever yearning

That the glow you cast upon her

Will turn into a shadow

As you finally turn towards me-

Zing- Cupid's arrow.

I want to trace every inch of your skin

'Til I memorize your soul,

And mold it against mine,

And finally feel whole.
