The Sun: My Star, My Light

Sat, 08/11/2018 - 12:42 -- tgata

You brought me into this world

Instilled your hope, genes, and dreams into my soul

Mom,

Through these 20 years

I've had many fears

You've wiped away so many tears

My heart is full

From the warmth and all you have given to me, so selflessly

The sacrifices you have made- big and small, have made such impact on my life

You wove your optimism and good humor, into me

Teaching me that nothing is perfect, that life is absolutely worth it

"No matter how hard it gets, please don't give up"

Cause you'll never know how rewarding it'll be if you just keep pushing through

"Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!"

You can do anything you put your mind to

Mom, you've given me so much

You're my rock and you rock!

You are loving, and so, so humble

You inspire me and have shown me the ropes

And you've shed light onto all the wonders light has to offer

You have no idea how amazing you truly are

In dark times you found the last match and struck it

When I felt like I struck out, you made me feel like I hit a home run

That's why, Mom, I feel that you're like the sun

I am like the Earth, and you offer all your greatness to me

You provide me with the necessities, and more than I could've asked for

Without you, I wouldn't be able to flourish and grow

-Grow into the woman I have become

And I'm still growing

Thank you, Mom

You are fantastic. You are beautiful like a star.

You are my sun
