Summertime

Sweet watermelon juice drizzles down my chin

As I sit on an old park bench.

The sun beams down brightly on the grass,

Illuminating each and every single blade.

Why hello Mr. Sun, how do you do?

Birds chirp away happily, and squirrels scurry around.

And as the sun slowly disappears in the horizon,

The moon casts itself into the starry skies.

I walk back into the comfort of my house,

and the smells of cooking elude me.

The hustle and bustle all throughout calms, and

Basking in the warmth of family and friends,

I look forward to another wonderful summer day.
