Summer Thoughts

Thu, 06/12/2014 - 18:44 -- ryannk

I watch from inside as the afternoon breeze flows through

The lush green leaves of the overhanging trees out front

I hear from my desk the hum of airplanes flying high

And the snap of the flag in the sky to the side

I feel the frigid AC collecting and cooling on my skin

As if I had been in the mountains or by the sea

Rather than inland, landlocked, and downtalked

For living in a place not as "cool" as is wished to be.
