Summer Haze

See

Sometimes my mind gets stopped up

And everything I take in gets swallowed up

Sucked in and

Thinned out. Bunched up like fabric.

I spread my arms out wide and gather everything I can.

Words and Disjointed sounds. Pictures. Memory that I tell myself

Is worth something.

I coast down familiar paths

The span of asphalt sucks up lonely memories

More readily than sunlight.

Somehow the movement gets trapped in with

Summer Heat

And that memory never slows down, never rests

Even when the lamplights buzz out and the night gets so much colder.
