Suffering Salvation

Location

Bedroom
United States

Little girl terrified
She smiles as glittering tear drops down
All defined, labeled, and identified
She blinks as she watches them drown
Observing people through her bright eyes
Thinking about the clock counting down the seconds as they pass
She looks up and sees the stars painting the skies
The stars are cluttered to a mass
Though she hasn't changed anything
People tell her to let them be
But she pretends she wasn't watching
They say she's lost at sea
She's floating in darkness, she's finally free
at least as free as someone like her could be
