Stripes

1 Thessalonians 5:23

23 Now may the God of peace Himself make you completely holy and may your spirit and soul and body be kept entirely blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Stripes

Stripes when run vertical

appear to make things thin and tall.

An illusion or just faking.

but still stripes will tell it all.

Stripes that run horizontal

make things appear wider, than they are.

It is a fact that in appearance

fiction rests on your mind's call.

Should we believe in what we see than?

Can we believe how things appear?

Or are great parts of our comprehension

based on just "the way we see"?

Kind of scary to think that even

all the facts … so carved in stone,

are some-how, maybe, totally different

than we guarantee ourselves to know.

Is that where faith can make a difference?

For by faith we can see that God

can overcome my mind's eye-limitations

and simplify what my mind cannot.

So when scales are moved from my "see-ing"

and the vail is torn from my mind,

then in clarity through the Spirit's doing,

I can serve "Him" body, soul and mind.
