Strangler

Sometimes I lay awake at night,

Afraid to fall asleep.

When my mind is in control,

It forgets to let me breathe.

With every shallow breath,

I stray beyond the depths of my own dreams.

Only do I suffocate when life is as it seems.

This poem is about:
Me
Our world
