The Story of Me

Dear younger me,

If only you knew the trouble

The trouble that would follow you

Follow you for the rest of your life

You should have known from the start

Starting with breaking your arm, that was nothing

Nothing compared to what was coming two weeks later

It was then you turned turned sick

Sick enough to be rushed to the hospital

The hospital pronounced you septic

You were surrounded by uncertainty

Uncertainty almost killed you

You were assumed to die

You now are out of surgery

Surgery has saved your life

Your life was approximately 15 minutes from ending

What unimaginable pain follows

Following you to today

Today younger me lives
