The Story of Eyes and their Lies

Sun, 03/09/2014 - 15:52 -- willcam
Open your eyes and you will see
The girl I was always meant to be
You see my face
Eyeshadow, mascara, perfume and base
Someone you just might want to chase
I meet your eyes
I remember then, how I will cry
At the end of this.
I minded my own business
Walking on the street
Looking down at my two feet
Someway, somehow I caught his eye
Stop. Tell the story. Don't you dare cry
First, the looks are the ones that always lie
I saw the perfect face, the gorgeous skin, the dark hair
I realized I was staring here and there
"Hey, beautiful." He had said
And then I was lying in his bed
He was trouble
I was trapped in his bubble
And then, another pretty girl passed
So did he
I did not last
It's been a while since I've seen him
Miss him, I do not
I fought and I fought
For the thoughts of him not to be brought
Now looking in your face, I ask one thing
Please open your eyes
Looks always lie
I was not meant to be his, not meant to be yours
Rain and havoc pours in my mind
I truly hope you are not blind
Turn away.
So you do.
I turn away, too.
One last thing, I must ask
Never pursue, but always look back
Open your eyes and you will see
Me.
Anyone.
The person they are.
The person they are meant to be
