Stop Running

I had a thought,

Maybe two.

One was old,

One was new.

One was dark,

One was you.

So I ran,

Ran down that road

Searching for something different,

Something unknown.

I found nothing on that run,

Only me and the setting sun,

Only the hope that I had lost.

Only my soul and what it cost.

Only God and all his grace,

Only glory and my dimming pace.

Only love and it’s warm embrace.

So I stopped running,

I’ve won.
