Stillness and Whisper

Ode to a University,

To these dreams and thoughts recurring.

That through the knowlege gained we might become enlightened.

We might gain aspiration and exignece,

through the excietment that fills our slushed brains one Sunday evening that happens to coincide with the eve of back to school.

And although we know that saying this year we will try is a lie

the smell of new backpacks and lunchboxes persuade us otherwise

the smell of free spoiled school lunch persuades us otherwise.

the sight of bad grades persuades us otherwise.

So the excitment comes in forms that are familiar but so distant,

with the summer oceans we visited between us.

righteous distain from the city and the preachers,

through the knowledge gained we might become leaders
