...Still I Rise, Even Stronger

Standing Tall, Proud, Black and Strong

Proving this stereotypical society wrong.

they ask me who I' am and where am I going.

I ask why so you can shoot down the comings of my successful showing.

dont expect me to go to college or be a success

but with my ambition proving you wrong I'll do my best

Just having a TITLE under all these statistics

isn't the right choice with societies logitics.

I'm BLACK

I'm POOR

I'm GHETTO

and Unsure

even where to look when I need help to soar

smart to realize, but failed to see

someone can be judged upon there independence like me.

I was told I don't act like the common black male

I'm sorry I don't smoke, drink, or go in and out of jail

so quick to tell me who I'm suppose to be

but yet at the end of the day my decisions affect me.

take heed to the challanges you face everyday

and don't live your life in a lie at least not the statstic way.

_Joshua I. Foster
