stay

coming out to you

was a roller coaster

of emotions.

you didn't seem to

take it very well.

i tried to tell you

it didn't make me any

different.

that i was still the same

person today

as i was yesterday.

you didn't want to hear it.

you wanted to leave.

you wanted out.

you packed all of your

bags and started

to head out.

and as i whispered

to you "stay."

you shut the door

behind you.

you walked back

to say something.

what you said shocked me.

you looked me right in the eye

and said

"i never loved you, by the way.

no one could ever possibly love

someone like you.

not someone who locks

lips with the

same gender."

you then

proceeded to

walk out

never to be seen again.

i saw you on the street today.

you gave me a dirty look

and started talking to

your new girl.

she laughed.

i'm not sure what you said

but i know it was

about me.

what happened to us?

we used to be happy.

one simple sentence

changed everything.

goodbye my lover

you will be missed

dearly.

i will always hold you

but i know you must go.

for you are a posion

a toxicity that

will only harm me.

that is why i now

stay away.

i stay on the

opposite side

of the streets from you.

i pay attention to

my surroundings

for you have frightened me.

i have to not care anymore.

i have to avoid you at all costs.

but i will never

stop loving you.
