Stars

I wish that one day,
Maybe,
I could hold the stars in my hands,
And toss them back and forth,
Like comets,
Soaring across the sky,
Giving hope to those below,
Hope that their wishes,
Might come true.
If I could hold a star,
Even just for a second,
Maybe,
Wishes would come true.
Touched by the magic,
The star trailed behind.
If I could toss a star,
I would throw it so all could see.
I would give them hope to keep going.
The stars however,
Are millions of miles apart,
Their glory shines,
All night long,
And gives us glimpses of hope,
Only a few times a year,
So instead,
I choose,
To be that star,
Giving hope to others.
