stand tall

Ever since I was a child I have had this dream.

I wanted to be out there with my team.

Despite being born with cp,

I have made the choice to let nothing stop me.

As I finish my mile I get a little wheezy,

Once you’ve wrestled everything is easy.

Push up after push up I don’t delay.

When doubt appears I begin to pray,

Takedown after takedown my defense is strong.

The preparation for this night has been so long.

As the clock winds down the crowd begins to cheer,

I stand on the mat as a shed a tear.

I have accomplished many goals,

People have told me I have touched there souls.

Some have been big, while some were small

Even when I encounter failure I always stand tall!
