Stand Up, Stand Out

Identity is a funny thing.

It's who we are.

And we never stop learning.

In these small hours,

We will laugh,

Triumph,

Make fools of ourselves,

Scream, cry, and befriend.

And in the midst of it all,

We will find ourselves.

Along the way,

We will make new friends,

Grow apart from the old,

Rock the Earth with a bitter heartache,

But above all, we will branch out.

Just like a tall oak tree on a cool, autumn day.

Identity is a funny thing.

It's the story of our life.

The book that never seems to close.

Every day is a new chapter.

Sadly, most fail to read it.

Don't be that person.

Have some kindness.

Appreciate the little things!

Take people for what they give you!

Don't hold grudges!

Forgive!

But don't forget the lessons,

They happened for a reason.

The past is the past.

But you are still you.

So what are you going to do?
