Ephesians 1:17-19     New English Translation

17 I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, will give you spiritual wisdom and revelation in your growing knowledge of him, 18 —since the eyes of your heart have been enlightened—so that you can know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe, as displayed in the exercise of his immense strength.

 

Spiritual laws and God’s Will

 

There are spiritual laws in effect whose legal judgments can’t be broken

The authority is so great that even devils can’t disobey but still

The most basic consequential law of the spiritual realm for sure

That nothing about man can be done without the consent of His Will

 

The battle is not against flesh and blood but against powers of darkness

Through yielding to the sword of the Spirit, one can gain back what is lost

Recapture lost ground from the flesh and from the evil that easily besets it

Through obedience and perseverance as Jesus continually pays all the cost

 

The foe will attack with many items; he throws many things at our feet

We don’t have to accept anything if we really completely rely on God

As day and night evil labors through dark spirits who never seem to sleep

But we will confront all the issues with the entrenched scriptures of God

 

Doubt we will screen with texts of faith and despair with the text of hope

Don’t accept orders to depart from the evil that easily besets us

Fears with words of love and such so peace will lead us as to where to go

For we‘re dead to the world; the devil’s only power is to simply test us

 

When you’re dead to sin, evil’s power measures now from zero, and none

You are crucified with Christ, well alive and away from worldly things

As the eternal sweetly smiles, lifted by love and seated closely in Him

He will take it from here and in such avoiding every snare that evil brings
