The Spirit of God

Genesis 1:2-3

Now the earth was without shape and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the watery deep, but the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the water. 3 God said, “Let there be light.” And there was light!

The Holy Spirit.

The Spirit quenched is the Spirit still.

In power and strength it always will be.

Moving over darkness as in Genesis one: two

until He feels home in the heart of the free.

I really don’t know what it takes,

to hear the voice of Jesus reason

How to set His Spirit free in me

Deep within and out of season.

The one I really need to be

with all my will lost in Christ.

To always do what pleases Him,

dead to self and buried in spite.
