Speechless Snow

It’s the middle of winter

I’m sitting inside

Watching the snowflakes swish and swirl around

Making the whole world cold

Watch them drift, aimlessly

Going places they don’t know exist

Whipping around as the wind catches them

And throws them away

It blankets everything

Bushes, benches, cars

Nothing exposed left untouched

And death turns into something beautiful

Ice-cold lace

It falls on my hair and coat

Watch as the little harbingers of death

Melt into a liquid life source

Everything is cold.

It’s dead

It’s beautiful

It’s… unexplainable

And all I can say is that it is snowing
