Special

Special means one thing, and then another

There are kids born with needs much different from others.

Some learn slower, and some can't walk.

Some can't hear you, and some can't talk.

I want to be the one to help out

Show them what love and patience is about.

I'll learn sign language, I'll steer the wheelchair,

And if one is upset or confused, I'll be there.

I want to inspire and make them believe

that they can do any of the things they dream.

I won't let anyone hold my kids back

or make them feel bad for the skills they may lack.

If they get hurt, on my shoulder they'll lean.

I'll help people see what special REALLY means.
