Spare Change, Please

Pleading eyes

Watching others walk on by

Wondering will anyone give

In order for them to live

Money lands

In their outstretched hand

The person looks up and sees

A face lit up with glee

They exchange a smile

And they talk for awhile.

Once they say, "Goodbye"

The person begins to cry

The person in tears

Realizes that the giver erase their fears.

With the money provided

The person buys food to survive

Filled with gratitude

Does the giver understand the magnitude

And the impact

Of their kind act?

The giver's gift

Is hope that uplifts

The person in need

Who only wanted a good deed.

Now believes

That anyone can receive

Service, a form of

Everlasting love.
