Sorry

Sorry is the symphony

of interrupted summers

and broken youth. It sings

of the promise

of twilight lovers

shyly holding telephones (wires intertwining like forlorn dancers)

Sometimes the distance

Is far too great

Blinking back to the

darkness that felt so

light

Naivety made me believe

His voice was the missing melody

Somehow I’d been

Waiting

Searching

Feeling

Beating

Strumming my heart strings

Searching for an accompaniment

Seldom found

Like sorry

But in our dreams.
