Somethings are Inescapable

Isn’t it weird that birds can fly

Defining all laws of gravity

They make it look so

Effortless

I wanted wings too

So I made my own

Out of wax

I wanted to fly too

I spent months working on my creation

Finally

I jumped

With only the confidence of my work

Hope

And the desire to escape

I flew past the trees

And greeted the river

I felt so free

I wanted more of this feeling

I wanted to fly higher

The higher I got the more feather would fall

I knew I should have stopped

But the alluring beauty of the sun kept pulling me in

Like a moth drawn to a flame

Not knowing it was a bug zapper

But it was so Beautiful

Maybe

Just maybe

If I touched the sun my problems would go away

Suddenly

I fell

I guess some things are uneducable

Even when you are arms length from the sun

-“Don’t get too close to the sun your wings might melt.“

-“I guess we will have to find out,’”he said.
