Someone

There’s so much that no one knows,

That no one will ever know,

The fear I feel,

The secrets I keep,

My silence allows,

My skeletons to remain unseen.

I am silent,

I am thinking,

Waiting to say,

Everything I’ve always,

Wanted to scream out,

And explain,

Why.

I want to scream,

I want people to listen,

To what I have to say,

But tonight isn’t the night,

Someday,

Everyone will hear,

The message I’ve fashioned,

And everyone will realize,

What I have been waiting to say,

And that day,

I will be heard.

Why won’t you listen?!

Just listen!

Watch them.

Watch those people.

Listen to them!

Listen to the crickets, the exhaust,

Listen to the world,

Breathing, existing, creating.

Listen!

No one will know,

No one will care,

No one.

Unless you listen.

Listen to the world around you.

Please.

Listen so that someone will hear.

Listen so that someone can understand.

Listen so that you,

Can be someone.
