Softly calling

Matthew 26:41          New English Translation

41 Stay awake and pray that you will not fall into temptation.

The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Softly calling

Where are you, my hidden spirit, when my flesh falls short?

Where and what is your reasoning if it moves away from you

How do you face hypocrisy, and how do you handle stress?

Where do you hide your feelings, and what is it you do?

Questions come, and questions go, but where are the answers?

Answers appear in opinions, but some truth will  come around

It seems you’re not with me when the critical time arises

To pay the price in the flesh when my ship run in the ground

When you softly whisper, and my flesh is screaming loud

I listen to the sound I hear as death knocking on the door

“Please be still and listen,” says the soft voice of the Lord

But by now, I’m deaf and blind, not keeping up with the score
