The Snow Falls

Location

The snow falls

On her tail,

on his wing.

It settles slowly,

carefully,

silently.

During the day, the birds, the dogs

run and play

while the bears and frogs

slumber away.

The creeks and the rivers

freeze and slow to a halt

while the fish underwater

no longer jump, roll, or jolt.

The trees without leaves

are covered with nature's dander

while coniferous beings keep

their needles ever-after.

The flowers are gone,

squirrels seldom seen

as humans moan in the mornings,

especially the teens.

In the night, owls swoop,

as stealthy as ever

while mice cower in their dens,

away from the weather.

In the spring, it will end

as quickly it came.

Until next year,

when the snow falls again.
