Smoke Clears on the Maidan

Location

No more bullets fly in Kyiv,

On the burnt and black Maidan,

The barricades can now come down,

For the battle is now won.

Berkut no longer threatens,

One hundred dead, no more,

Need fall lifeless on the street,

Or bleed out in the door.

Let’s not forget them now,

Or what they died to bring,

To free Ukraine from corruption,

From the “Regions” inner ring.

Now as a new age dawns,

Let the change remain,

Don’t go back, strive ahead,

A country new, free, and humane.

Pray for Ukraine as it moves on,

Its future still is brittle glass,

 Let wisdom, selflessness prevail,

And may God Almighty ever bless
