Smoke

Like smoke, we were dispersed after the poison of our fun
Went in and out, left cancer's promise on a pair of lungs
Atrophy at your heavenly side is worth all the waste

Like smoke, we rolled
No direction, no control
Summer pavements cooling down
I'm always somewhere in this town

And all these people
Inhabiting such waste
A sound I've grown around
A town I can't escape

And all so dim and feeble
Blindly do they hate
Bitterly they turn theirselves
From visions of their fate.

This poem is about:
Me
My community
Our world
