Smile

I am the woman, lost in the curtain

I am the woman who hides all true feelings behind a smile

Saying all is well and people move on

The superficial will win out all

I am the woman who is the cracking mirror behind the curtain

The fractures held together by a delicate frame

Every wrong turn adding to the distress off the glass

Barely holding on, but still pushing through

Every crack disfiguring

Hidden behind the curtain

The smile that hides all

Life leaves me cracked behind the curtain

I am the woman behind the curtain

Afraid to reach out

Rejected by those who matter most

Fracturing under the pressure

Hold it together

Smile

They won’t be able to tell

I am the woman behind the curtain

I scream inside because

No one can see behind the curtain

Smile
