small
I can almost feel the earth turn its defiant rotation
sand and dirt swirl and beat down upon my face
fine grains stuck in my eyelashes
the churning in my stomach at the speed of 1000 miles per an hour
Can you feel the wind howling as we soar
towards the Andromeda galaxy?
the earth is crackling and melting and we only sit
upon its thin crust
My lungs tighten around my spine as I think of that video I saw
on the internet one time zooming out into
the scale of the universe
Can you sit with me so I can breathe?
I feel so small with my feet planted upon the ground
I brave this desert planet dreaming of flight
and once I touch the clouds I live in fear
failing to crash in a big metal bird
numbers consume me, end me
Can you cover the glow of the clock?
miles, seconds, dates and hours
give me time in this lonely world
the threatening beep of a microwave
I can only give you time in this shriveling world
And I can only give you mine
