Slipping into Darkness

Stumbling through the labyrinth of pine,

I am abruptly greeted by the water’s edge,

And the overpowering beauty of color,

I put the sun to sleep,

Twisting the clouds and satin colors around my finger,

and dipping the light below the horizon,

The sweet delicate remains find their home,

Upon my tongue,

Dissolving out of existence as I vanish into the trees.
