You are the sky

I am the sea

and although we make each other complete

the universe says we shall never meet. 

We are divided by a horizon

made prevalent by the sun that you see

little do you know

that the sun will set each night

and abandon you by the harsh of winter. 

But even in the apparent darkness

the sea sees the twinkling stars amongst the sky

and reflects them back with a brilliant vibrance.

The sky and the sea will always seem so close

but never quite close enough to meet.
