skin

Scientifly speaking skin is the thin layer of tissue forming the natural outer covering o the body of a person or animal, yet as human beings we us skin as an exus to seperate us from understanding each other. We as humans say do not judge yet we are so quick to say " oh they are black they must not be smart" or " oh their Mexican they must not be a citizian" ironic isn't it? We claim that we want change and we protest for it but no one actually impliments it into their daily lives. How long will we continue to let skin steryotypes hold us back? Will I have to raise my future children to understand that their skin might hold them back if they get get pulled over by an officer for speeding? Will I always be asked "was I raised by Black people" becasue of how I carry myself? When will we overcome this hurdle and look past skin and see the heart in that human being?
