A Single Thorn

I prick my finger on a single thorn,

And watch the blood fall to the floor,

Eyes... The color of forget-me-not blue

my heart is staying pure and true.

Through days of darker light...

When the sun forgets to shine...

I will be there,

To hold you through the night.

And I can feel this pain, deep inside,

When you refuse to hold me tight.

So let my blood fall to the floor,

The last piece of my heart's pure,

Torn to shreds by the piece of you,

That could not let in light... once more.
