A Single Seed

When I met you, it all started with "hi."

At first, I could't think of what to say

But we grew so close, I couldn't say bye.

Even through skies of blue and clouds of gray,

You were always there in my time of need

With that smile that makes my heart skip a beat.

It was then I planted a single seed.

Whether that seed survives the summer heat

To me is a completely unknown woe

For all that is in my power to do

Is to watch my single seed of love grow

And to wait and see if yours will grow too.

Now Darling, knowing you, you just might cry

But don't worry, I'll be here for another "Hi."
