To The Single Mother Who Trusted Me

When we started off, I was all too worried.

Hoping your son would grow to like me and that you would be comfortable with a new man in your lives.

We’ve worked together and become the best of friends,

And I’ve known from the start that we were made for each other.

I spent all of my time with you two and I loved every second,

I grew more and more fond of you as each minute passed.

I love you both with everything I have, and

I will do anything to keep you both safe.

I will always work to provide for you, be there for you, and give you the love that you both deserve.

I know the past has shadows that will always follow,

But I want to be the light that pushes them away.

I want to be the man you can be proud to call “yours”

And I want to be the role model that your son looks up to.

I want to be the father that he never had

And I want to be the lover that you never have to worry about losing.

I’ve never felt the way I do now about anyone else,

And I never want to have anyone else in your place.

There is never a moment that I don’t think of you two,

And I love how much our love for each other has grown.
