Simple Assumptions

Location

I remember standing on that stage

Before thousands of parents and peers

Performing the role of a cutter

And the irony of it all;

How effortlessly I could be myself

How exact are my memories of the cast party

And how many times you ignorant people applauded

How accurate and moving I was

Especially the actual cutting scene

I have since changed into long sleeves, but

You would never suspect

I smile graciously and in turn

I congratulate you on your role as an addict

A reflection of my smirk flits across your face

How little I know about you
